Born and raised in Easton, Pa., Linda moved to Maryland after
earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, Pa. She earned a Master of Liberal Arts from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, while she was teaching high school English and journalism for the Baltimore County schools. She also worked as a free-lance writer and editor of children's books before joining the synod staff February 1, 1986.
After 13 years of part-time work as the synod Coordinator for Communication, she was made full time in that same position in January 2000. She is responsible for managing and writing the synod's E-Letter, a free electronic news and information service, and the synod blog, DE-MD Synod; writing and producing FaithLines and FaithLines OnLine, the print and electronic versions of the congregational leadership newsletter; coordinating www.DeMdSynod.org, the synod Web site; managing synod participation in LutherLink, an online conferencing system; and handling internal and external public relations. Frequently, she consults with congregations and other groups on communications issues and particularly enjoys working with other synods to develop daily online devotions for Advent and Lent. She serves as the synod correspondent to The Lutheran magazine and writes occasionally for other ELCA publications.
Linda and her family are active members of First Lutheran Church, Ellicott City, Md.
