Candidates sought for synod youth coordinator position
Title: Delaware-Maryland Synod Youth Coordinator
Hours: 20 hours per week
Salary: Dependent on experience/education
Candidates for this position shall:
- Confess a living faith in Jesus the Christ as Lord and Savior
- Accept, understand, and adhere to the Confessions of Faith of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)
- Articulate a personal and corporate vision for ministry to, with, by, and for youth and families
- Demonstrate positive leadership experiences with youth, adults and youth focused organizations and events
- Possess the potential for and desire to raise up, recruit, train, and equip new leadership among youth and adult youth leaders
Summary of responsibilities:
The DE-MD Synod Youth Coordinator will be the leader of the Synod Youth Mission Force (SYMF) and will be responsible for working with and equipping volunteer adult and youth leaders to:
- Lead the leadership teams of the SYMF
- Engage in local and national networking opportunities
- Participate in regular continuing education
- Attend to various administrative tasks including staff meetings, budget administration, alternative funding, and reports of activities
