What is Christian Formation?

Christian Formation is the name for a whole group of activities meant for all ages in our lifelong journey to the fullness of life in Christ. Education is not enough to help us grow and mature into vibrant Christians. It is one thing to learn about or talk about God. But that knowledge about God must be nurtured and mentored into a relationship with God. Our spiritual lives are supported by Christian education, and by an enriched parish life/fellowship. We are nurtured by prayer, worship, the study of scripture, spiritual direction, and the sacraments. Formation occurs when the whole community is engaged together, as well as individually discerning who God calls us to be - not matter what our age is.
