In Chatham

Chatham, like the rest of the Cape, is positively bristling with unique inns and bed & breakfasts. The Bradford Inn is about two blocks away from the ceremony and reception site, and most establishments in the 945 prefix are within a mile. If you do stay at the Chatham Bars, we demand to see your room: we want to see what $1650 a night will get you.

Here is a list we've compiled from several sources, including AAA ratings and 2006 tariffs, when known; for more in-depth information, often including photos of rooms, try the following sites:

This AAA map offers a good overview of the area.

With only moderate overgeneralization, it can be said that the further away you're willing to stay, the less you'll have to pay for a hotel. Within ten miles, the towns of Brewster, Eastham, Harwich, and Orleans offer a variety of options, from nostalgic 1950s motor lodges to restored 1850s inns. Within twenty-five miles, heading out toward Barnstable, Dennis, Hyannis, and Yarmouth, the familiar chain hotels begin to appear. Further choices lie to the north and west.

For the adventurous, Provincetown lies at the very tip of the Cape, about 35 miles north; a passenger ferry runs from "P-town" to Boston. West of the canal, larger towns such as New Bedford, Fall River, and Plymouth (even Providence and Boston) may offer more economical housing; however, you may be spending considerably more time commuting than you might like.

WeddingChannel.com has a great search engine that uses Sabre, the exact same system your professional travel agent would be using.

Outside Chatham, chances are your hotel will be on MA Route 28, US Route 6, or US Route 6A. In the grand scheme of things, theyıre roughly parallel; MA Route 28 becomes Main Street in Chatham, and US Route 6 is the Mid-Cape Highway. US Route 6A runs a bit further north, and is a more scenic alternative to the highway.

Another interesting option would be to gather a few of your fellow invitees and rent a house for a week, thereby creating the paragon of destination weddings. Two reliable agencies are Pine Acres Realty and Chatham Vacation Rentals (if they ask what area of Chatham you'd prefer, "Stage Harbor" would put you closest to the events).

Wherever you choose to stay, we hope you enjoy your visit to Cape Cod.
