CHAOS CODE

Chaos Code is yet another original progressive rock band
to emerge from the Baltimore area music scene.

Their debut release, A Tapestry of Afterthoughts, stresses the varying styles of each member's contributions. Songs such as "Days of Reflection" and "The Devil's Trombone" echo classical-like themes throughout, while "Antidote to Entropy", "Gravy Fries" and "Heights of Time" showcases the raw power of this four piece band. The cornerstone track of the CD, "A Silent Scream", pays homage to each of the band member's roots and influences with it's strong themes and mood shifts.

Chaos Code is:

Cliff Phelps: vocals, guitar, keyboards, flute
Philip Rous: bass guitar, bass pedals, 12-string guitar, guitar synth, keyboards
Marty Saletta: keyboards, Chapman Stick
Dan Squillaro: drums, percussion, vocals

Chaos Code began in 1993 as The Web, a progressive rock cover band playing much of the music that inspired each member to begin an appreciation of music. The set included classics from Marillion, Genesis, IQ and Porcupine Tree. Through the course of a few personnel changes, the group settled down and began writing original music in the fall of 1996. As the music matured, the group was performing to very appreciative audiences.

The decision to record the music was initiated in the spring of 1999. Fully financed by the band members themselves, A Tapestry of Afterthoughts is the product of several months of recording and post-production resulting in a product which emphasizes the quality and maturity seldom found in independent recordings.
