Regatta Instructions

· The course will be defined at the Skipper’s Meeting.

· Skippers Meeting: 10:30 a.m.

· Warning Signal for First Race: 10:45; 3 minute intervals.

· As many races as can be raced up to 2:00 or so will be held.

· Trophies will be awarded during the barbecue to be held after the racing.

· Please RSVP to Bill Fry (703) 595-1927 (e-mail: wgfry@alumni.duke.edu).

· Entry fee of $6 per person (max of $12 per boat or family).

Our pool, Historic St. Mary's City, and Point Lookout are available to all hangers-on.

Bagels will be served before the racing, and a barbeque directly following. The ‘club’ will provide everything. Please give us an estimate of the number of persons coming.

Directions to the Fry Plantation

Bauer Road, St. Mary’s City, MD Phone: (301)862-4324

Bauer Road is one mile south of St. Mary’s City on MD Route 5. It is about 1 1/2 hours drive from the Washington Beltway (I-95).

Washington Beltway (I-95) -To Pennsylvania Ave EAST/SOUTH - Route 4;

Stay on Route 4 about 60 miles past Solomon’s Island;

(Note that Route 2 from Annapolis merges into Route 4, so you’ll then be on Route 4 and 2);

Stay on Route 4 and go over the Patuxent River Bridge;

Go about two miles to the light at MD Route 235;

Take a left (south) on Route 235 towards Lexington Park and the Patuxent Naval Air Station.

Proceed to downtown Lexington Park; at the intersection of Great Mills Road is the main entrance to the Naval Air Station; From this point go another 6 1/2 miles south on Route 235.

Take a right on Mattapany Road (big sign to St. Mary’s City) - go 2 miles until it “T’s” at Route 5;

Take left onto Route 5.

Go 0.6 miles and take a right onto Bauer Road;

Take Bauer Rd straight past where it turns into a gravel road - keep going straight to the water (about a total of a mile on Bauer).

The Fry Plantation is the house on the left.
