Discussion: This month’s meeting topic will be presented by Jason Bolin and Juan-Carlos Guerra of the FBI Office located in Baltimore, Maryland. These presenters will speak about Network and Cyber security concerns and how the FBI’s process of investigating these crimes is conducted. This discussion will be broken into three sessions with one being on general cyber investigation practices and information about how and what the FBI does in regards to cyber investigations, the second session will be an open panel discussion between the FBI presenters and meeting attendees, and then the final session will be a procedural walk through on the steps and processes used in conducting a sound investigation without compromising the data or scene. Speakers Profiles: Special Agent Jason Bolin works for the FBI in the Cyber Intrusion Squad. He has his BA degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. He is a certified information systems security professional (CISSP) and was an Adjunct University Professor. Agent Juan-Carlos Guerra graduated from the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado with a BS degree in civil engineering. After graduation Mr. Guerra served as an 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force with such duties assigned as a Civil Engineering Officer, and a tour of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon leaving the Air Force, Agent Guerra joined the FBI and was assigned to the Baltimore field office and has worked on such programs as counterintelligence, computer intrusion investigations and child sexual exploitation matters.
