| Volunteers play an important role at Annapolis Area Ministries, Inc.
because there are a number of jobs which staff cannot complete without additional help. An
example of such a need is shelter dinner preparation. Every evening a group of Light House
Shelter volunteers sets up tables, prepares and serves dinner to the guests staying at the
shelter. There are many other volunteer opportunities at the
Light House Shelter and Anchor House. Please check below to review them. Volunteer Opportunities at the Light House Shelter Evening Volunteers Two volunteers are needed each night from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to a) Unfold tables and set them for
dinner Evening volunteers must attend a training session prior to scheduling a date. Their duties may vary slightly according to the needs of staff on duty. Dinner Volunteers (up to four volunteers per night are needed) Volunteers--who must attend a training session if the shelter kitchen will be used to cook the meal--prepare a complete dinner for 25 to 30 people. It is a good idea to check with the Light House the day before you provide the meal to see how many people are staying at the shelter. Call the Light House Shelter to schedule the date you will provide dinner. Dinner is served at 7:00 p.m. Soft drinks are optional, although welcome. If you are unable to stay to serve the meal, please bring it to the shelter by 6:30 p.m. Lunch Volunteers Volunteers are needed to provide bag lunches which includes a sandwich, snack bag (such as potato chips), fruit and desert. Soft drinks are optional. We need you! Thank You! Home
