Music For Peace & Justice Concert Series
Arts in the Woods
Each year we host a series of classical and jazz concerts at the Unitarian Universalist church. We present music of the highest quality to enrich the lives of our local communities and to support local charity organizations in the search for peace and justice. Over the past few years we have hosted recitals by world-renowned pianist Brian Ganz, Washington virtuoso flutist Karen Johnson, chamber music concerts by the excellent Mariner String Quartet and the jazz of Max Murray & Friends and young artists Netanel Draiblete and cellist Rachel Gawell. Revenues from ticket sales for these concerts go to help local charities, including Arundel Habitat, HAVEN, and The Light House Shelter. A "Circle of Friends" developed in 2006 to help cover the cost of publicity and musicians fees to enable to extend our concert series and reach a larger audience.
