An annotated introduction to selected Web pages of value to journalists. By Allan R. For
quick access to news
-- both domestic and foreign -- visit
Yahoo!
News at http://news.yahoo.com
Hint: Place the country designator in front of the word "news" for foreign reports. For example, http://ca.news.yahoo.com will get one Canadian news. Some others: (au=Australia; de=Germany; it=Italy; fr=France [In native languages]; uk=Britain; and so on). If a country doesn't work, it probably means Yahoo! News isn't posting for that nation yet.The Associated Press provides the day's news through its member papers. From the AP Web site one is randomly taken to an AP member newspaper somewhere in the nation. In this decade of the Blogger, two sites are emerging as giants of news delivery. Try them: Topix.net and Findory. |
