Blank or Missing Text
Several members have reported that large chunks of the newsletter are "missing" or blank when they try to read it. It turns out this is not unique to our newsleters and it is a known problem between web browsers and the Adobe Reader plug-in. There are two work-arounds you can use.
The First Method is to right-click on the link and select the 'save target as' option. You should then see a pop-up 'file download' asking you where you want to dowload the file to. Once you have given it a location (or take the default) and the transfer completes, you need to run the Acrobat viewer to read the file. (So remember where you downloaded the file to !)
The Second Method is to start your Acrobat Reader and go to FILE | PREFERENCES | GENERAL and make suer the "web browser integration" option is not selected. This will cause your web browser to treat Acrobat Reader as a "helper" instead of a "plug-in". So, when you click on a link you will see the 'file download' dialog and can decide to 'open this file from its current location'.
While both methods accomplish the same thing, I prefer the second method since I don't have to remember where the downloaded file is stored.
This problem has been noted in Acrobat Reader 4 with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5.
